Unable to change address of current blog and create empty blog for old blog addr

  I am using free Chateau theme. I have followed the Support instructions to Change USERNAME and Selected “Change example.wordpress.com to match my new username and create an empty blog with the old address” will
  change the address of your current blog (if your new user name is newusername, your blog’s address will be changed to
  newusername.wordpress.com), and create an empty blog for your old blog address.
  However, I receive an error that says if it persists to drop a note. Here’s the note. What do I do? Thanks.

  I don’t help with these changed my username and changed my blog URL issues. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Another Volunteer may answer prior to Staff but I tagged the thread so it will not fall through the cracks and escape attention. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  Despite the error, a new blog with my desired username was created, and the old username was changed to an empty blog as desired. Everything seemed to be intact on the new blog. However, several days later, many of the media links are now missing. Of course, I can go through and repair them; but I can’t help but wonder why they disappeared after the fact. Thanks for your help. The new blog is DiabloDanceClub.wordpress.com

  more on media….and, in fact, media displaying yesterday is not today; media not displaying yesterday is there today….??????

  Hi there,

  After looking into your account, I found that certain images are coming from a different site’s Media > Library page. Please note that if you delete those images from the Media > Library it will not appear in on your blog. For example, the main image on your page is:

  

  as seen in this screenshot:

  

  You will see that that image was from your old site: diablosinglesdanceclub.wordpress.com. Since you deleted that image from the Media > Library page of that site, it is no longer available.

  Please upload images that you want to use from the old site to this site’s Media > Library page, and use those images.
