Unable to change content width on Watson
-
I need to know why in Watson, if I change the “content width” in the CSS area to 900 and even tried 1200 – my width is not changed – even on a new post. Has anyone successfully changed the width of the posts in Watson? Homepage is fine – but I need a much wider individual post page.
“This option should be used if you have modified the width of the primary content area using custom CSS. The “Content Width” setting is used as the default size for full-size images, videos, and some shortcode widths when they are inserted into your blog. Note that it will not affect the size of some images and videos you added before changing the setting, depending on how they were inserted, and you may have to re-insert some of theme after changing the setting.”
Here is the new post I tried after changing the content width in CSS – then, when posting, I even set the photo to 900 X 600 and tried 1200 X 900 and nothing – still the small, theme size:

The testing page was deleted when I checked it out.
What theme are you going to use? You mention Watson but Bueno is turned on. I ask because the css customization will be different depending on what theme you use.
Also I think that you are trying to control the content width by making image sizes larger. The size of the content area is defined by the theme’s style sheet. Not by the size of the items inside that area.
For Bueno you would need to add this css to your custom style sheet.
#content { width: 1140px; } #main { width: 820px; }That would increase your main content area by 200px. Is this what you are looking to do?

Silly me – I didn’t realize I had the tester blog as my main blog. The blog I am using is a dedicated domain and I’ve purchased the custom upgrade package. I think I solved the issue and now it will simply come down to making sure the photos I save and use for the blog are 900. Would you take a peak and let me know if it looks good? http://caribbeanjourneyweddings.com
