Unable to change e-mail address under account details

  I need to change e-mail addresses under the account details section in Personal Settings. The person who used to take care of the blog for our department has moved and I am the one who needs to receive notifications now. When I try to change it, it gives me the following error messages:

  ERROR: That e-mail address is already being used.
  ERROR: The e-mail address is already used.

  Please contact me at: (email visible only to moderators and staff) if you have a way to resolve this!

  Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you are referring to.

  We can only allow one WordPress.com account per email address.

  Assuming that you’re trying to change the email address on the old account to the same one on your account, you won’t be able to do that.

  You’ll need to either use another email address, or just transfer the blog to your ownership: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
