Unable to change links to ‘open in new tab’

  Hey everyone,

  Is anyone else having trouble getting their links to open in new tabs on the new WordPress?

  Suggestions and hacks very welcome!

  Hello

  Are you talking about menu links? If yes, then please follow this support instruction in order to do so: https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

  When entering the URL, there’s a checkbox to “Open link in new tab/window”. You’ll need this to be checked in order for the link to open in another tab.

  Thanks! I’m actually having trouble since with the “Open link in new tab/window” checkbox since we updated to the newest version of WordPress. I can tick the box but it doesn’t seem to have any effect in the finished post.

  Any idea what’s going on?
