Unable to change my email / Delete my account
-
Main concern: delete my account. I do not want my email address in your system.
Reason for this ticket: I spent 5 minutes searching for a ‘delete account’ option, which I couldn’t find. Spent another 15 minutes searching your support pages for help on how to delete the account and how to find email support. Found that I can change my name / username / email to make my account anonymous instead. I tried this, but when trying to change my email – all I get is an error saying you were unable to save my changes.
I find it unacceptable that any service that stores personal information don’t have a ‘delete account’ option, especially one of your size and popularity.

I would also like to delete my account. I too have tried to change my email address and it informs me that I cannot.
I have cancelled all upgrades I purchased on the website and it still won’t let me delete my account.
If you have the ability to do this, I ask that you please delete my account as I do not want the site nor my details in your system. Thanks,
Sara. -
I am unable to change my email for contact. I tried some time ago, and it stayed pending forever. I don’t mind using my old email for a user name, but I receive hundreds of notifications about likes and followers, and they all go to my old email, and are forwarded to my current email. I would just like to change my current contact email in my account so the notifications aren’t loading up my old email, which I never visit, and I can just file them at my current email. You will probably even get this request at my old email. Help! :)

Registering an account here required
(1) your consent to the Terms of Service http://wordpress.com/tos/ and all policies made under it found in the support docs like this one http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/,
and
(2) an email address.Any personal information you posted anywhere was posted voluntarily. Both the email address and personal information can be removed or replaced at any time.
Here’s how to deactivate your account:
Although username accounts are not deleted, so you cannot be impersonated and have your reputation affected by anyone registering the same username in the future, there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html4. To hide your Gravatar profile, login and on the bottom right hand corner of your Gravatar profile page you will find a “hide” button visible only to you that you can click. http://en.gravatar.com/support/profile-privacy/
P.S. Do know that if you are a wordpress.ORG blogger you will require a wordpress.COM account to use other products such as Jetpack, etc. https://automattic.com/
