Unable to change name servers

    !!!!!!!!!I am unable to update my name servers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com because I am told that my domain is not active.

    In the domains page, it says “status – pending transfer”. How can I get my status to be active….in the Dashboard – Store – Domains, it says Status – Active, however, I’m still unable to update the name servers to direct my blog to my Bluehost account.

  • Hi Kyle,

    The “Status – Active” in your dashboard is to let you know that the domain mapping upgrade is active for your domain.

    Are you trying to move your domain to a different registrar? If so, that would mean you wouldn’t be able to update the nameservers until the transfer is complete.

    Thanks for your response Bryan.

    My status is currently not ‘active,’ it says “pending transfer” which it has for four days now. I am trying to move to hosting with Bluehost, I have set up an account and been on the phone with them several times, I would love to speak to a WordPress representative to get this solved.

    I need to change my nameservers to:
    ns1.bluehost.com
    ns2.bluehost.com

    Can you please complete the transfer for me, or as Bluehost has told me, simply update the nameservers to the above two listings.

    Per an email from Bluehost:

    You need to follow this following instructions:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

    You need to change to this bluehost name servers:
    ns1.bluehost.com
    ns2.bluehost.com

    After making changes you need to wait for 4 hours and then you will be good to go.

    You can always use this following website to verify that the propagation of the domain has successfuly completed on http://www.centralops.net and enter the domain name : kylegoesglobal.com and look under WHOIS domain and see if the nameservers are : Ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com

    What’s the URL where you’re seeing the “pending transfer” status?

    Can you log into your Domain Manager located at the bottom of Store -> Domains to approve the domain transfer?
