Unable to change new url to old url when old url does not exist

  Hello,

  I would like to change katharinajavier2.wordpress.com to katharinajavier.wordpress.com, however it says the site exists yet when I type in katharinajavier.wordpress.com into my browser nothing pops up. Katharinajavier.wordpress.com doesn’t exist in My Blogs so I am confused as to why this is happening – I’m sure in the past I’ve used this address for a blog I deleted. In fact, I think at one point I completely deleted my WordPress account.

  If there is some way I can change the name of my new blog back to katharinajavier.wordpress.com that would be great.

  The authors have deleted this site.

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address. If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it.

  To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If you clicked it and the blog was deleted it’s game over. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
