unable to change theme of new blog

  I created a new blog and the system selected a theme I don’t like…I have a free free Joomla Template I would like to use or something better than the automated WP gave me.

  how do I change the theme to a free one?

  I’m getting customization is a premium feature but WP has a billion free themes.

  Please help.

  On WordPress.COM, you can’t use any third party themes.
