Unable to change widget contents

Yup, staff have been working on it all day. They’re doing the best they can. And presumably we are politely and patiently cheering them on, right? :)

I had this problem last night, but with enough fiddling got it to work. The things I did included logging off, logging back on, then switching the position of two widgets (which worked), then removing the widget in question. That seemed to revert it back to the old text I’d had in it before. I rewrote the new text, put it into position in the sidebar, and it worked.

By now they may have this fixed but, just in case, I thought people should know there may be ways of getting a widget to work in the meantime.

FWIW, I tried to replicate growthmadness’s sequence to install a text widget without success.

Yea, I installed for the first time the Sonific widget, but can’t get new songs into it.

First I’ve thought “Oh no, they’ve broke widgets on Safari”.
Tried Camino and “Mmmm, not working either… Maybe Firefox?”
Tried Firefox and finally gave up.

I wish I came to the Forum sooner :)

in case i’m not up on internal naming, does widgets include the categories box, where you are supposed to be able to enter a category, click “add”, and it should appear checked for that post?

while we’re at it, if anyone wants to tell me how to delete category names i no longer want, that would be great. i’ll look around for a related forum thread to.

Does this widget problem also apply to the title bar links/menu? Because I’ve added a couple new pages and deleted one, but the changes are not showing up in my title bar links/menu.

I’ve got the same problem as bruce above with the page title bar links/menu. I hope the issue you’re trying to fix is related so that will start working as well…
