Unable to comment despite being logged in

  I’m unable to comment on any wordpress site despite being logged in to my account. The system keeps asking me to log in!

  Sample sites I’ve been trying to comment on:

  I know this sounds trite but have you tried just clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and logging in again before submitting a comment?

  Yep, already done all of that at least twice with no results.

  When you say “wordpress site” are you referring to a wordpress.COM hosted blog or to a WordPress.ORG software install?

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  What is the exact URL starting with http:// of any post you cannot comment on please?

  yes, it is a wordpress.com hosted blog–i double checked with the owner.

  Hi there,

  So when trying to comment, you are asked to sign into your WordPress.com account even though you’re already logged in? Anything else happens when you try to leave a comment? If you get a specific error message, please copy and paste it in your reply here.

  Also, have you tried using a different browser and logging into your account to see if you can comment. I would try a different browser other than the one you are using and see if there is any difference.

  Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks!

  Hello! thanks so much for your support but I think I’ve figured out what the problem is, and it looks to be something in my browser (you were right about it working on a different browser!)
