Unable to comment on my own blog

  Hey. Sorry to be a bother, my blog is animamrecro.wordpress.com

  For the whole of today I have been trying to comment on some of my entries with no success (this is the first time I have had this problem). Is there a reason why my comments are not showing up? When I try to resend them, I am told that I have already commented and that the duplicate is being deleted, yet the original comment is nowhere to be seen.

  I received an e-mail from another frequent commentor on my blog who is struggling with the same problem. I received about 20 comments today from other people though, they evidently did not experience the same problem.

  Have you checked the moderation queue? This is the only reason I can think of.

  I have been blogging for a year, as far as I can see there must be some kind of an error at wordpress. I can moderate the comments no problem, but I can’t write any myself. They simply do not appear on the blog.

  if they’re not in the moderation queue, then send a feedback to staff. It sounds like it might be a back end issue that we can’t fix. Good luck!

  Have you looked in the Akismet spam files? Sometimes, particularly if Akismet has tightened up recently or you’ve posted several links in your comments, what you write ends up getting marked as Spam. The solution is to go to the Spam file, click Not Spam on those comments, hit “Un-Spam marked comments” at the bottom of the page, and keep doing this for a day or so until it learns you’re not spam.

  Raincoaster: Thank you, you were absolutely right. All my comments (and those of some other contributors) were ending up in spam. I haven’t checked it in a while, as it is attracting thousands of spam messages. Thank you for solving my issue.

  You can send in a feedback and ask staff to look into this if you want. be sure to include your IP address along with pointers to comments that did get tagged as spam.

  A quick check of your IP address and the Class C that you’re in against my own records doesn’t show anything right off. I don’t have access to Akismet though.
