I have been trying for two weeks now to get an issue fixed and I have had no luck.
I used to have jetpack installed on the site and had no issues and I took it off earlier in the year. A couple of months ago I installed the Google & Ads Listings plugin and I got it to work. I was doing an update and I had disconnected it so that I can fix that issue. Now I can’t get it to connect to jetpack and it keeps telling me to try again later.
I have gone through and tried a default theme. Deactivated all plugins and tried. It is neither one of these as I still get the same issue.
The only thing I have come down to is that the xmlrpc.php file is being blocked somewhere. I have deactivated my defender plugin. Cleaned out caches on server and Cloudflare. Cleaned out the database time and time again.
Is it possible that this is being blocked somewhere? I have checked the log files for both woocommerce, WordPress, and with the site in Cpanel and there is no log of it being blocked.
Now as I’m writing this I see I have my URL with another account but I shouldn’t as I have thought I had it here for years. Unless I used another email(s) address.

There are different ways of fixing the sudden secure association blunder in WordPress. You can attempt one of the accompanying arrangements dependent on your circumstance.
Facilitating and Server Related Issues
Assuming your common facilitating server is under DDoS assault, all things considered, the association with WordPress.org will break causing the solid association blunder.
All things considered, you can hang tight for a couple of moments and attempt once more. In the event that the mistake endures, you want to connect with your web facilitating organization’s help group.
Cloud or VPS Server Availability Issue
Assuming you are on cloud or VPS facilitating, it is conceivable that your server can’t associate with WordPress.org because of some DNS issues.
All things considered, you can point your server straightforwardly to WordPress.org servers. You should interface with your server utilizing SSH.

Hi there,
It sounds like you are needing help with the Jetpack plugin, but have landed on the support forum for WordPress.com sites instead. Can you please report this issue to Jetpack support by asking here? Thanks!

Actually, I am on the right one. I needed to connect to my wordpress.com account with is what Google Listings & Ads uses to connect.
The problem was not with my server or anything like that. Instead, it was the fact that my WordPress URL is mysite.com/blog and the site URL was mysite.com. When I changed the site URL to match the WordPress URL it connected.
Now I have another issue. I don’t want to use mysite.com/blog but mysite.com.
I have no idea if I can even change that setting in my account or if I’m going to have to move the whole site into the root folder. I’m worried if I move it into the root folder I will have the same issue and not be able to connect. But not sure.
Any ideas on how to do it so that I’m not having to move it?

Hello there,
Ok, it looks like we need to retrace some steps here – what is the URL of the site you’re trying to connect?
Also, what is the old and new URL change that you describe there?
lnrdesigns.us is a self-hosted WordPress site, which would make it completely separate to anything on WordPress.com.

Ok, let me see if I can explain this.
I had Google Listings & Ads plugin installed. It started acting weird so I went into my self-hosted WordPress dashboard and I disconnected everything like I was supposed to. When I went to reconnect it started giving me errors that it couldn’t connect and try again.
When you install this plugin, you have to connect with your wordpress.com account and your google account (which apparently is like jetpack or uses it). So after researching it, I thought it was jetpack because apparently, they use the same XML file. Well, there was nothing wrong with the XML file.
Here is the instructions for the plugin: https://woocommerce.com/document/google-listings-and-ads/
So I continued to try to figure this out. Nothing was working. I then contacted my host and they changed the permissions on the XML file. Still the same error. So then they emailed back and said that the URLs didn’t match. I had my WordPress URL set for lnrdesigns.us/blog and the site address as lnrdesigns.us. Once we changed this to lnrdesigns.us/blog it connected. Now, this is odd to me because I have another site that I use this plugin with and I have the WordPress URL set as mysite.com/wp and the site address URL as mysite.com, and everything connected. Now I don’t know if the settings in that account for the connection is set for the site URL or the WordPress URL. I would have to check that out.
What I want to do is to use lnrdesigns.us and not lnrdesigns.us/blog. I really don’t want to move/copy the site as I’ve had it for 10 years and it will be a project. I also don’t want to use a redirect as that is bad in the google rankings.
Really hope this makes some sense. Still early in the morning here. ;-)

The problem here is with your site’s Jetpack connection (Jetpack can’t access your site’s XML file) and as such, you’ll need to reach out to Jetpack support to sort this out. Once they get your site connected to your WordPress.com account properly, the WooCommerce extension should work as well.
What I want to do is to use lnrdesigns.us and not lnrdesigns.us/blog.
Your site and WordPress installation are both located at
lnrdesigns.us/blog– to uselnrdesigns.usas the URL your visitors see, you would need to make changes on your WordPress install. Here’s an article I found through a quick Google search that can help clarify that process.I hope that clarifies things.

I sent them a message too. Makes no sense to me as it’s a plugin that’s added to this account. I went to the jetpack site and when I logged in got wordpress.com.
You’re probably seeing the redirect I have on the site right now but with the redirect off it does connect.
I’ve tried to edit my site in my wordpress.com and it won’t let me edit my site. So even if I do end up moving the site apparently it’s still not going to work because it will be the wrong site listed.
I know how to do the url and that is how I had it set up to begin with and then all of a sudden it don’t work.

Jetpack is a plugin installed on your website and uses your WordPress.com account in order to access specific features of the plugin.
It looks like Jetpack support have already responded to your inquiry. Please continue your conversation with them and they should be able to answer any questions you might have about your site set up and connection.
There’s not much else we can do here since Jetpack is already helping you with this. Thanks!
