Unable to edit media url

    Hi,

    I am new to wordpress and currently facing a problem with media library.

    Currently, I would like to attach a pdf form at one of my website page. To make it simpler and easier, I would like top have my pdf link with something like:
    http://fgsman.wordpress.com/dharma-class/registration.pdf

    However, when I have uploaded my pdf to the media library, the wordpress automatically assigns a default url to the pdf and I have no option to edit the link.

    Is there anyway that I can change the url link of the uploaded files?

    I don’t think there is a direct option to do what you are requesting.

    As a work around you you could create a landing page called “http://fgsman.wordpress.com/dharma-class/registration” (for example) and then put a link to the actual pdf on that page. That way you could send your users to a page with a URL that made a bit more sense, and they could click a text link to access the PDF.

    The other benefit of this method is it gives you a way to track the number of people who visit your registration page as wordpress.com doesn’t track pdf downloads.

    Yes, this is what I am doing right now – To open a page and create a link that goes to the pdf form:
    http://fgsman.wordpress.com/dharma-class/

    Since there is a simple interface for every uploaded media file so I thought I could edit the link of the pdf document.
