Unable To Edit Posts By Thumb Tack That Formerly Appeared
-
My posts and pages used to have a thumbtack at the top that could be clicked and then I could edit the post or page. This thumbtack no longer appears and I am having a hard time fining the posts and pages in the editor lists.
1. Can I get the thumbtack back?
2. Why is is so hard to search for a post or page in the editor? Even when the exact post name is placed in the search, I cannot find the post! Thanks
Rob

The thumbtack is still there, but you need to be logged into WordPress.com as an account with at least Editor privileges on the site in question.
You are currently logged in as an Administrator on the site, the highest power, so it should be appearing for you as long as you’re logged in.
One exception is if you’re using Safari or you’re on iOS. Apple has created a cross-site tracking prevention system, which is really cool, but when you have a custom domain it’s going to block some things.
This is because our access cookies are of course from
wordpress.combut your site of course runs underrobertcliftonrobinson.comso they’re blocked by Safari and iOS as a cross-site action.Currently, Apple hasn’t provided a way to whitelist sites, and there is absolutely no way for us to work around this. Our hope is that Apple does add a whitelist in the next major iOS and macOS updates, because of course we don’t want to tell people to just disable their tracking protection.
If you are using an iOS device, you can edit your site via https://wordpress.com/posts/robertcliftonrobinson.wordpress.com or the mobile app: https://apps.wordpress.com/mobile/

I am logged in.
I am using Chrome.
Despite these, I cannot see the thumbtack any longer.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks

I also cannot locate my posts or pages by their names.
When I search box for the post at the editor, I see a long list of posts, but not the one I am searching for. I have to scroll through 20 pages of posts before I can find the one I am searching for.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2392709
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which version of Chrome you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
