Unable to edit posts on Mac

    Cleared history & cache
    Safari 13.1.2
    High Sierra 10.13.6
    Can read posts when looking at published. but cannot create,edit or manage. Just get blank screen. But can still access dashboard.

    Can edit on mb and with Firefox.

    That’s most strange – can you tell me if any adblockers are running on the browser?

    Also, is this happening across all posts and pages?

    Thank you kindly for getting back to me. No changes to ad blockers. None running.

    It’s happening across all posts on Safari. I can access dashboard. I can access post ‘read only’ but I just receive a blank page when trying to update or write.

    Hi there,

    to clarify, this is an issue with merchantcityglasgow.wordpress.com and not another site you have (which we are unable to see) yes?

    I have tested on my end and I am able to see your blog post by going here: https://wordpress.com/posts/

    When I click on them (I tried a few at random) they loaded for me as expected. I am using Chrome as my browser and I am wondering if that my be related to the issue. If you try a different browser like Chrome or Firefox, are you able to edit your posts? Or do you get the same blank screen you see in Safari?

    Correct thats the site.

    As I said, I can load/edit on mb & Firefox…but not Safari for some reason.

    Ah missed that detail. Usually, when an issue like this occurs, it can be traced to an expired (or broken) login auth cookie stored on your local web browser. With this in mind I would like you to try the following

    – Clear your cache and cookies based on the steps Apple recommends here: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/clear-your-browsing-history-sfri47acf5d6/mac
    – Also make sure the “block all cookies” setting is un-checked under Safari > Settings > Privacy

    If you try those, does it allow you to edit posts/pages as expected? Thanks!

    Thanks but I had already cleared cache and cookies twice. Not got cookies blocked. When the page tries to load I get grey bars briefly at top of screen then nothing, simply blank.

    Hi there,

    Do you happen to have any extensions active under Safari? If so, can you temporarily disable them and see if that helps. Also, if you could log in to your account while under a private browser in Safari and see if the same issue persists, we could look into this further.
