Unable to edit site

  I have set up a new profile, have added my own domain and can reach the site that shows I am logged in. However I am unable to edit the web page. The web page states, ‘Welcome to your new site! You can edit this page by clicking on the Edit link.’ The edit link is nowhere to be found and I end up in a circular look as WordPress keeps asking me to create a new site. Any help on attempting to start the editing of a new site with own domain name is appreciated.
