Unable to edit user profile

Hello. I tried editing my user profile on WP admin.
Currently, when I respond to comment or write a post I’m referred to as admin.
It says usernames can’t be changed. So I tried to edit my ‘Name’, ‘Nickname’ & ‘Display name publicly’ but it simply won’t let me do it, no matter how many times I try to update the profile.
It also won’t allow me to connect to my gravatar profile, so I can display a picture for the ‘user’ profile.Is there any way to correct this?

What’s the address of the site you’re working on? From what you’re describing, it sounds like you’re actually working with the open-source WordPress software from WordPress.org rather than WordPress.com.

Hello,
I believe this is the right forum as when I try to log into wordpress.org I can’t as it says I don’t have an account with them(with my username or email).
But I can log into wordpress.com which is why I tried to ask my question here. -

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two separate entities, if you don’t have an account with WordPress.org, you would need to create one here: https://login.wordpress.org/register
