Unable to excerpt article on home page

  I am using Twenty Nineteen template and trying to excerpt my article by adding a block as per the https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/more-block/2/.
  However I still can’t see the excerpt. Can you help?

  The article title for the excerpt is ‘EU reaches agreement on single-use plastic ban’.
