Unable to Export

I’m trying to export recent posts from my (free) blog and getting an error message. I clicked on Get Help and here I am. I have no clue what the problem might be, but I kinda doubt it’s user error. So what do I do?

It’s a red banner across the top of the Export area in the Settings page. It says, “There was a problem preparing your export file. Please check your connection and try again, or contact support.”
I’m not sure why the connection might be an issue (although I suppose the javascript might have failed to download properly). But when I quit my browser (Firefox in Windows 7), relaunch it, and try again, I get the same result.
This is when I choose to export published entries (with any start and end dates). When I try to export all, I just get an endless spinner, with nothing ever happening.

Endless spinning is a cooneticity issue.
Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at https://browsehappy.com

(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

Ah … it’s an error on the WP end, not my error. After upgrading Firefox (a ..02 upgrade) and clearing the cache, still it doesn’t work. But it turns out that’s because I got there from Settings > top menu. When I go through WP Admin > Tools > Export, it works perfectly. So what WP has here, at their end, is some bad code. End of story.
