Unable to Find "Custom Field"
-
Hey Everyone,
I am having difficulty finding the “custom field” section. I’ve read at several places that it is hidden, and should be located in the drop down screen options section. However, when I click there, the checkbox for “custom fields” simply is not there. Is there any other location for this? Help would be greatly appreciated!

I suspect that you have read this on a site that is referring to the standalone WordPress program. We do not have “Custom Fields” here on WordPress.com.
Just for clarity: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
What is it that you wanted to do with the Custom Field box?

I wanted to be able to use archive.org material to be detected by my rss feed. Is there anyway I can do this using a wordpress.com blog? I like wordpress, but I want to be able for the rss feed to detect my audio files from archive.org

You’re welcome!
I want to be able for the rss feed to detect my audio files from archive.org
Why do you think that those files are not being detected?
-
Not directly connected to the RSS feed issue, but you can insert audio files in your WordPress.com site. Here’s how: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

I think that wordpress says
“Archive.org can be used to host podcast audio files but archive.org uses re-directs on the file paths it publishes – this confuses WordPress, and consequently, the Podcast publication fails (missing enclosure tag error).
To avoid this error, if you are hosting your audio files on archive.org, you need to add a Custom Field called “enclosure” and paste the full url for the mp3 file in the Value field.”
Thank you for the link to insert audio files — but I’m not quite sure if it would put it on the rss feed.

Where exactly are you reading this? You cannot use an RSS feed to autopopulate a WP.com blog. Just get the URL of the actual MP3 on archive.org and put it in an audio player, as I have done here at the bottom of the post http://manolofood.com/tea-time-rap/

Hmm..well ultimately I want to get my podcast to Itunes — but in order to get it to Itunes, I thought I needed an rss feed. When you embed it into your post, does it automatically go into your rss feed?
Your blog looks awesome btw!

Have you tried out the Support doc instructions for embedding an audio file and seen the result?

Also, here’s the Support doc on podcasting: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/podcasting/
