Unable to flag spam referrers
-
When I click the flag for spam icon to report various Semalt spam sites in my referrer stats, I get no confirmation that I have actually succeeded im reporting anything. The flag doesn’t change to “undo?” or anything. I have tried for several days this week to report spam referrers, I’ve opened a support ticket, and have been told that the spam was flagged, but the same site keeps coming back every day.
Is anyone else having this issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The semalt crawler has been reported many times as a spam referrer.
Marking spam referrers as spam referrers on your stats page simply removes the reporting from your stats. It does not block them. See here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spam-referrer-reporting?replies=3

“Marking spam referrers as spam referrers on your stats page simply removes the reporting from your stats. It does not block them. See here”
Yes, I know that. What I’m saying is that when I attempt to mark the referrer as spam, it does not remove the spam referrer from my stats. It is still there in my referrer list.
I am on a MacBook Pro, OS X latest version of Yosemite, using latest version of Safari. So there shouldn’t be any problems there.

Thanks for providing that information for Staff.

Hi @joycemillman, can you confirm you’re referring to the stats on this account? I’ve tried logging in with your account and two different browsers, and I do not see that referrer anywhere. If you’re still seeing it, would you send a screenshot of what you see? This article explains how:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/You can upload it to your media library, or use a service like Cloudup and send us the link.
-
Also if you’re referring to a different referrer (hah!) that is not semalt but something else, let me know which one so I can test the same process you’re using. Thanks :)
-
Yes, this is the correct account.
The referrer name is keywords-monitoring-your-success.com/try.php?u=http%3″

Okay, that one was not marked as a spam referrer, but I just tried doing that while logged in as you, using Safari, also on Yosemite. It seemed to stick for me.
Do you still see that referrer in your list?
Also is there any chance you’re clicking the spam button, then accidentally tapping “not spam” just after that? I’m wondering if you’re double clicking, for example.
-
It’s no longer there.
I’m not tapping “not spam”, because “not spam” never comes up for me anymore. Which is why I’m having trouble figuring out if I’m actually reporting the spam — nothing happens when I click the flag for spam icon.
Anyway, whatever you did removed it.
-
Hm. Well, I’m glad you’re set for now. If this happens again, have you completely closed and re-opened Safari anytime recently? Or could you try another browser to see if you have the same result there?
