Hi, it seems to be system error. Frequently system shows me ‘Unable to follow this blog’. It is increasing day by day. Can you close the issue? Please give some advice to get rid of it near future. Regards, Best Indian Food Blog. Have a Delicious day.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

The following option has been disabled on your account. It was picked up as spam – like activity. You’re following too many sites, too quickly. This tool is intended to follow the number of sites that you could actually keep up with and follow as a real life human.

OK, thank you for the information.

But what is next to get service as usual? Is there any way get rid of it? How to enable the service again?

  • @bestindianfoodblog if you have triggered that too many times, we cannot reenable your ability to follow more sites.

Please remember follows are not meant promote your own site, or to be given out as a thanks for someone following you.

They’re literally meant to fill your own reader with interesting content. Abusing the feature means you’ll eventually lose access to it. Same goes for “liking” content for the purpose of self promotion.

At this point I can see you’re no longer allowed to follow more sites, but you are already following almost 2000. If you don’t have enough content to read, you are welcome to follow a tag.

I’m going to go ahead and close your other threads / tickets on this issue as there’s nothing more we can do at this point.

Is there any possibilities to get the service back in future?
Is the same rule for paid accounts like Business?
Some time system can’t feel the reality! Here following means not promoting myself, rather get more Food Ideas from others. And if the policy is not to follow more than 2000 then wordpress should mentioned previously. I knew from a comment of WordPress staff that if I open the post, read, like, comment and follow the blog there is no issue. But here rule is different, I came to know. There is no fixed rule of it! It’s absurd! It’s Dengerous! I was thinking to got this blog paid and go for a long run but I am now afraid to do that! To go like a pro I need to know the exact rule of liking, following, commenting and reading. Either wordpress may block my paid service anytime without any proper mentioned reason! Can anyone show me the written terms and conditions where it is perfectly mentioned the limitations to like, comment, read, follow etc. If there is anything hidden to block any growing blog in future? Where there is no perfect rule or limitation to follow, how wordpress disable my following service without any notice or information? It’s really Dengerous! I am insecure on wordpress!
Wordpress should make a rule first then if anyone break the rule then should be blocked. WordPress can’t do anything by the name of system! And if system doing the mistake, staff should resolve it as per request. Otherwise system seted up by wordpress I guise. In that condition who will dare to upgrade the blog? It’s awful!

  • Hi there,

There isn’t necessarily a certain limit to the number of blogs that you can follow. However, we monitor the rate of how quickly you follow other blogs and are alerted when it appears that the rate is indicative of spamming (as opposed to truly reading through a blog and following it, not just following it without knowing anything or reading anything). So, we do not provide a hard number that you will need to stay under – users just need to be mindful of their following habits and understand the fact that they can be flagged for spam following.

Thank you, you are requested to close the topic if possible.

  • We’ll close this and once again recommend following tags here:
    http://wordpress.com/tag/food

To ensure you won’t lose any other abilities here on WordPress.com, please avoid any other mechanical actions that could be construed as spamming.
