Unable to gain access to wordpress site

  Help! I can’t gain access to a wordpress site I set up in 2017. It says I am not admin – even though I wrote the site and set it up.

  1. How do I work out who the admin is for the site (if I could see who has been put as admin then I could identify that person)

  2. How do I recover the login details?

  The sf301177 account you’re using to post here is not an admin, nor a user in any role, on that site. If you used to be an admin on that site, it was via a different WordPress.com username account.

  Thanks for replying. I tried going through the recovery but I did not have a verification, authentication or an email from you. If I knew how I had set this up (i.e. with what email) then I could access it. When I try and enter the email associated with this account (e.g one on website – which I have access to), It says there is no wordpress account set up against this. I am perplexed. I am the only person that set this up! I have two other email accounts and its not with them either. Are you able to tell me if it is my name set up against the admin?

  In all, I just need this website closed down as the voluntary project associated with it is no longer running.
