I got an email on 10/6 that Bluehost did an upgrade and since then I have been unable to log into my WordPress site to do anything. I can login from cPanel at Bluehost, but none of my content is there and most of the time it is just a white screen. I am suddenly now getting a 500 or 404 error code when I try to pull the site up.

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your WordPress site. I can imagine how frustrating this situation must be.

As your current site is hosted with Bluehost, it’s using the free, open-source WordPress software available from WordPress.org. I have to explain that here at WordPress.com, we offer a different kind of managed hosting service. This service includes hosting, security, support, and updates directly from us. But because of this distinction, we’re limited in our ability to assist with issues on sites hosted through other providers.
You can learn about what WordPress.com managed hosting can offer you here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

Since we can’t help directly, the open-source WordPress community is in the best position to assist you. They offer robust support forums where you can ask other WordPress.org users and experts for help. Here is the address for those forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

Also, if your issues persist, and you do want complete peace of mind concerning your hosting, you might want to consider moving to WordPress.com. We’ve made the migration process easy with our plugin that helps you to transfer your website to our hosting.
