Unable to have page URL as 2012
-
I want to create a blog page with the URL http://sugarpeach.wordpress.com/2012. I created the page, but the permalink remains http://sugarpeach.wordpress.com/2012-2/. I don’t have any previous permalink that is http://sugarpeach.wordpress.com/2012. What should I do so that there is no -2 in the URL?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is it possible you already created a 2012 page and then trashed it? If so, make sure to empty the trash and you should then be able to modify the page url to remove the -2.

I don’t have any 2012 pages or posts. That’s why I’m finding this problem a little weird.

http://sugarpeach.wordpress.com/2012/ would be the permalink for the 2012 yearly archive page, that is why the -2 was added. It it was not, then the two pages would be in conflict with one another since the archive page and the page you created would have the same permalink.

You are welcome. What you would have to do is to put some text with the year rather than just having it as the number. The other thing you can look at would be replacing the zero with a captital O. You would have to see how it looked as some fonts make numbers smaller than capital letters.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have changed the URL to 2o12. Since I can’t capitalize the o, it does look a bit strange… but oh well.
