  I just purchased a domain and want to host it on my home server. I did configure the software (apache2) and port forwarding, but when I try to access the domain it goes to my domain.Wordpress.com. Please help.

  Correct account: Yes

  Hi There,

  Could you please provide more details on where you are trying to host and what is the URL of your website, from where you purchased that(WordPress.com or other) or did you try to transfer or map that here?

  I purchased the domain – technocrazy.co.in from WordPress and received a mail with cash receipt confirming the purchase. I am a newbie and have very limited knowledge in subject. I set up a server on my laptop running Ubuntu using Apache 2. I set up port forwarding in my router as well. The index HTML is opening in Local host but not outside the LAN, it redirects to technocrazycoin.Wordpress.com

  You can point the domain to your server’s static IP address by using a custom A Record. Our support page provides step by step instructions on how to change an A Record from under your account:

  Followed the instructions as advised and it did the trick., able to access the site from different networks now. Thanks a lot.
