I have tried several times to install Chrome but I don’t have “sufficient privileges.” I tried troubleshooting by reading forums for Chrome and I repaired disk permissions but it still won’t work. So…I can’t let you know about the image issue and Chrome unless you have any other ideas how I might install Chrome?
However, I seem to be able to insert images now. (Although it did seem fixed before and then wasn’t working a day later again.) And I am having trouble with the placement (ie. putting pics side by side) which I swear I could do before but I have no idea if this is a completely different issue or the same problem.

Aligning images can be a bit problematic, as they may not line up based on their sizes vs. the available size of the content area.
If you can’t use Chrome, would you please try Firefox instead?

I am using Firefox and I seem to be able to insert images ATM. I tried Safari just to see and it seems to be working too.
I still can’t get two images side by side and haven’t found anything in the forums that helps. Should I start another post? I am totally new here (and so not tech-savvy) and I’m not sure what the protocol is.

I am having the same issues with the media screen going blank when I try to insert an image from the media library. It worked for a couple of days but now is not.
I managed to install Chrome. This problem is happening with both Firefox and Chrome.

Yes, they do.
Earlier, I was able to use the old browser method and insert pics from my computer. (So on those I was adding captions.) However, I was not able to edit the pic and then insert.
BUT now, I cannot even insert that way. -

(Incidentally, I figured out that the difficulty I was having aligning text to the left after two side by side images was due to not being able to make the captions the same because of different amount of text…I have no idea if this is part of the same issue but I still hadn’t gotten it to work.)

Thanks for getting back to me.
I think it has something to do with spaces in the captions.Because my captions were of varying length, I couldn’t get text to line up properly underneath. To try to compensate, I tried to add space to the shorter caption. I think this is what was causing the media screen to go blank. If I avoid this action, it seems to be okay.
(I still have no idea how to deal with alignment issues occurring with pictures with different caption lengths–I have just been trying to adapt by coming up with more or less to say to avoid a disparity.) -

yes. And with multi-words as well.
I’m not sure exactly what it was that was making it not work but I think it was trying to use the “enter” key in the captions to create an extra line of space.
