  I am unable to ‘like’ other WP blog posts on their actual site. The ‘like’ button only seems to work on my Reader page on the dashboard with the blogs I follow.

  Also am not able to see who is following me – the widget at the top of my WP dashboard browser doesn’t work.

  Both issues have been like this for more than a month. Grateful for any help.

  I took a quick look to make sure there wasn’t anything in your site settings to cause this problem, and didn’t see anything.

  Usually that means it’s a problem with your computer or your browser. Could you try using WordPress first in a different browser on your computer, and if the likes still don’t work, on a different computer?

  Once we know if it’s a computer problem or a browser problem, we can dig a little deeper.

  Hi, impressively speedy response – thank you.

  You are correct, it’s fine using Internet Explorer – my browser of choice is Mozilla Firefox.

  My browser states that Mozilla Firefox is up to date.

  Excellent. Thanks for checking on that.

  The next thing to check is browser add-ons. You said the problem started about a month ago. Could you check your browser extensions/add ons and see if you added anything to your browser about that time?

  If you find something, try disabling it to see if that fixes the problem.

  Haven’t got any add-ons but have disabled all the plug-ins. Unfortunately that still hasn’t fixed the problems. Really appreciate what you’re doing for me.

  Cache and cookies cleared but still not working.

  Maybe I shouldn’t be asking you for help with this if it is the fault of my browser?

  True, the problems only come up with my website – but I’ve lived with it for a while so if I’m desperate I could periodically change my browser.

  It’s harder for me to help with browser issues, but if you are ok with continuing to try, I’m up for the challenge.

  Could you try logging into your WordPress.com account using a private window in Firefox and see if you still have the problem?

  Okay, will definitely Chrome.

  Thanks to you, at least I now know that the fault is with my browser, not WordPress.

  I’ll look into it myself, Mozilla have quite good help sites – you never know, maybe I’ll learn something new!
