Unable to "like" posts from within "Reader"
-
Hello,
I am just about 3-1/2 months old in WP. So apologies in advance if this issue has been discussed before. I searched but couldn’t find any result and hence this post. My blog -> https://dilipsnaps.wordpress.com
I normally “like” the posts of photographers I follow from within the “Reader”. Since they’re mostly photographs with hardly any text, I see no reason to open their site as it saves me lots of time. The last few days, however, when I click on the “star” icon under each new post from the people I follow, the star icon gets highlighted and then almost immediately reverts back to its original state. In effect, the post doesn’t get “liked” from within the reader. I am not sure if I am explaining it correct. I have a 15-sec video showing the issue, but I see no option to upload it here.
So I thought I’ll contact WP to see if it’s something to do with my blog or my computer. My OS is Win 7.
Thanks for any help in advance. ~ d i l i p

Hi there,
You were unable to like posts yesterday because your account had been temporarily blocked from liking posts. This happens if you like a very high number of posts in a limited period of time, i.e. scrolling through the Reader and just liking posts without spending much time, if any, actually viewing the posts.
You have already been blocked several times. Please be aware that repeatedly hitting these limits can result in the block becoming permanent.

Hello,
Sorry for the very late response. I didn’t know you had replied to this post as I wasn’t checking my emails the last few days.
Thank you for letting me know about the issue. The mistake is entirely mine. I will keep this in mind and be more careful in the future.

I realise if you mostly follow photo blogs it’s easy to just like as you scroll through your feed, but consider at least clicking to the individual posts in the Reader so the owners will at least get a view stat to know you visited, and consider leaving a comment on the ones you really like. That will slow down your liking a bit, and might even result in more people also visiting your site in return :)

Sure, I understand. I never really thought about the stats part of it. Also coming from an Instagram culture, I guess I got a bit carried away. Sorry for that.
I will keep your instructions in mind going forward. Thanks again for your help and advice. :)
