Unable to load new media

  Aargh now what have you done

  Something about these new changes has removed all links for me to be able to load new images, so I am unable to use my blog.

  Don’t just tell me I need to upgrade (did that once, it took a clean re-install and a week of work to recover) or get a new computer.
  You have made it impossible for me to use my blog, which was working perfectly well before.
  So it’s you that have withdrawn the service.

  Are you stuck in the new Distraction Free editor?

  If so, there’s an “Exit Fullscreen” link which will bring you back to the normal editor with the familiar upload/insert buttons.

  If you prefer the Distraction Free editor, there’s an icon in the toolbar (visible by moving your mouse) that resembles a camera and a music note. Clicking this will bring up the insert media dialogue in the Distraction Free editor.

  Thanks for the quick reply. But the problem is the Choose File button has disappeared from the Upload New Media page.

  Under General Settings I still get a Choose File button for uploading a Blog Picture.

  Under Manage Themes Custom Header I still get a Choose File button

  As far as I have checked, the Choose File button has only disappeared from the Upload New Media page (in both Flash and Browserr versions)
  Which is where it most matters. . .

  I replied to your message by e-mail, but obviously that wasn’t the way to do it.
  So here’s the reply.
  It’s the missing Choose File and upload buttons which are the problem. And that appears only to happen on the Upload New Media page.

  Browsers

  Mac running Safari 1.1.1

  I also have IE for Mac 5.2.3, but that won’t even let me log in.

  See my first message for what my reply will be if you tell me to upgrade. . . plus a lot of asterisks. . .

  I’ve just been able to potter along doing everything in html, but I do need images. Alternate posts are ‘eye candy’. Today is the first time I’ve tried to upload images since your supposed ‘improvement’.

  Unfortunately, those browsers are incredibly out of date.

  I’m afraid that say that an upgrade is definitely in order.

  It’s hard to say where to upgrade to without knowing exactly what version of Mac OS you’re running, but http://browsehappy.com/ will at least steer you to the latest version of each browser available.

  If you also run a rather old version of Mac OS, the Opera browser will probably be your only option.
