Firstly, I’ve contacted Phone Co-op again, who now tell me that some of their suppliers/wholesalers do subscribe to the IWF, and blacklist sites (thereby affecting wordpress users), but say that its up to WordPress to request their removal from IWF’s list. I’m pursuing this with them.

Secondly, from the comments of rjaybee and others, it seems clear to me that my problem is different, in that my blog is working more or less normally, once I have access to it. My problem is simply not being able to get into access to it, intermittently (still).

(I have had some glitches within WordPress for a while -the ‘like/comments’ alert not working, and sometimes editing in full screen saves the wrong draft!- but these have been going on for several months). Like rendzeretlen I’ve found it very helpful to hear from others coping with this frustrating situation.

Lets hope that negotiations sort out the blacklisting mess before subscription to IWF becomes mandatory. I

    @btaylor679

“my blog is working more or less normally, once I have access to it”.

That is my situation, though access has become dramatically worse today than on previous days.

On 29 July, according to Happiness Engineer rachelmcr, “We communicated with the ISPs and IWF, and expect that things should be functioning normally soon.”
I’m just wondering how ‘soon’ is ‘soon’, as I’m still experiencing the same problems. Are we meant to wait until it filters through or was it supposed to be an instant fix? Should I be talking to my ISP? Advice would be appreciated.

SITUATION WORSE (my ISP is Talktalk):
Offline until late afternoon. I wrote brief update to published post about these issues, then hit Update button. Tab showed it taking many seconds to connect then screen announced ‘Page can’t be displayed’.

Hit back arrow button and got back to original edit screen – without needing to log in again, hooray! And it shows an Autosave later that content of edit screen. Somehow my update got saved and I could restore.

I made 5 attempts at this before it worked as normal and my revisions appeared in the revised post

So, dear engineers would you kindly update everyone on why these gremlins haven’t been exorcised?

Further to my positive comment this morning – THAT will teach me to be so cocky! Back to same level of service. TT user

Forgot to say – ‘no data received’ also comes up when I click on wordpress link people share on twitter.

debutnovelist, still unable to create a new blog, can access all other areas of word press if patient and persistent, but new blog is completely unrreachable, it is my husband who needs a new blog but I keep checking it also, we both receive the same message…NO DATA.
Further, we have both founds that our viewings have been decreased quite considerably so I wonder how many people are actually coming up against the no data issue but not bothering to report it? I had built up a bit of a following in the short time I have been here and now fear I will lose the people who are my “regular readers” for I am not posting any more until it is resolved, it has been an enormous time waster on top of being hugely frustrating and not having any professional feed back from the actual staff of WordPress as to what is happening and when it is happening is absolutely astounding.

    TWO WEEKS AND COUNTING.

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m actually amazed how quiet this Forum is when a large section of the UK is unable to access WP. Why is that? If it is just a few people complaining, who keep coming back here, is this ever going to get to the top of the list?

  • Unknown's avatar

Two weeks now and the problem seems only to be getting worse and worse, what is going on. Made umpteen attempts to create a post this evening all to no avail, now can’t even access the dashboard. This intermittent access makes no sense.

What is the current status regarding UK ISP’s?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have had the same annoying issue for the last 2 weeks now; today was no doubt the worst ever. We’re also in the UK with TalkTalk (FYI: I do not have these problems at work with a BT ISP although cannot verify that I can write posts, preview pages etc. there as that’s not an option at work……). Have tried to avoid the issue by using a proxy US server but got stuck somehow and couldn’t complete the task…. if anyone’s interested, here’s what I tried to do: http://thetrickslab.com/2013/04/how-to-use-proxy-in-google-chrome-to-unblock-restricted-websites-like-unblock-youtube-in-pakistan-etc.html
    Sort it out please WP.

@davidderrick try searching on google or the like and you will find it really difficult to find any results relating to the lack of wordpress access. Have also searched on twitter and found just a few comments, & one person who has made a post on wordpress about this.

I am having the same issue – hosted by go daddy in the US. Others reporting same issue. I am ericafinds.com. Having issues with my ericafinds.com/wp-admin and the site ericafinds.com, too. Posts seem to save despite telling me no data received. I spent 5 hours on the phone with go daddy since last Thursday. Tried PC/Mac IE, Safari, Chrome and Firefox. This is becoming a huge pain! Please let us know what is going on!! Thank you!

The problem’s no better. I had good access to my blogs using BT as my ISP earlier today. But I’m now using TalkTalk, and access to my blogs and to this forum is slow or non-existent. My TalkTalk broadband speed is excellent, though.

I have a little bit more luck today… at least I could catch up with few posts, but it is far from perfect.
I hope someone will take care of it shortly or it will be time to move to different platform

I too have major problems with this and have spoken to TalkTalk this morning. They deny that there is any problem at all and keep trying to tell me it is a browser issue, which clearly it is not. I have tried on a BT line and it works fine. One thing I have discovered, is that if you are editing a post and you try to save and loose connection, if you back space to the page you were editing, after several minutes it does often find a connection to the host again and you can actually save your post. When is this all going to end?

  • Unknown's avatar

I see there’s an update dated 29/7 saying this issue has been fixed and explaining what happened. Thank you!

You said there would be some delay in the fix finally curing the problem – do you have an ETA on when the issue will be finally resolved? I am still having Reload problems and it’s now 3 days since the fix date…

  • Unknown's avatar

Just got off the phone with Talk Talk (for the third time). Because I’d had no update about the fault I’d logged, the chap spoke to a team leader who said the lead engineers were aware of the problem and were “working on it.” As it’s been 3 weeks of intermittent or no WP access now, I’m not sure they’re working very hard! They couldn’t give me a timeframe for a fix but did say the issue had been reported numerous time. Seems blocking an entire blogging platform is a lot easier than unblocking it.

One reason you might not be seeing much about this issue on here is that these forums haven’t been working for affected folks either. I’m accessing them via my phone on the Orange network which has never had a problem with WP. Soon as I try to use my TT wifi on it, I can’t load these threads at all.

  • Unknown's avatar

An individual user does not really have the clout to get through at the right level of an ISP to resolve something as complex as this. That is the job of WordPress, who owe us a further update.

  • Unknown's avatar

Sorry to say, the glitches continue and drive me nuts.

In addition, I can’t sign up to other wordpress blogs.
The message is, ‘try again with a valid e-mail address.’
Neither my g-mail nor aol addresses are considered valid.
