Access to my WP blog and this forum is totally impossible today via TalkTalk. I’ve had to connect to BT Fon via a nearby house to send this message. BT Fon has also enabled me to update my blog.

Wednesday this week was a disaster for me (Talk Talk), with no access. Yesterday, Thursday, was fine. But I’ve experienced this cycle before in past two weeks. Uploading data was always smoother than receiving.

Hi. Anyone having continued luck? I still can’t access anything or even view my blog or anyone else’s. Have sent a private support request seeing as the responses on the forums from the engineers are so few and far between. I have spoken to Sky twice now and they said they’ve not heard from WordPress nor can they identify a problem. I think the focus was so much on TalkTalk they forgot some other ISPs. Whoever is with companies such as Sky, Co-Op and other ISPs which were in the minority, are you having any success? And could an engineer please update as to the status with other ISPs other than TalkTalk and BT today please? Thankyou.

I’ll refrain from jubilation just yet, but today I had no glitches so far and could even leave comments.
For information, my server is aol, which, I guess, is talk/talk in the UK.

@jordantheheadcase I am on Titan Telecom and my service has improved from last night, in that I can read blogs and post on my own blog, without delay or loss of connection. But I have tried commenting on another blog just now and was automatically logged out after clicking on the ‘like’ button. Having logged back in, my comment was accepted, but every comment box seems to be asking for my email address etc even though I am an accepted commenter. I am not sure what this says about the effectiveness of the fix!

TalkTalk here – for me it is hit and missed…
Sometimes it is taking me 2h to upload 1 post, which was already formatted, sometimes it works as normal…
very weird…
I opened a case with TalkTalk, which was passed into special engineer branch, as normal people couldn’t find a solution to it.
I am due a phone call with them on Mondayplaying catch up with my posts
still very unhappy about whole situation

Hit and miss today for me with TT. I was able to access the dash of one blog and create/edit a new post, but my other blog was more iffy and I had to go in via “https” which works on occasion for some unknown reason. So, an improvement on the last couple of no access at all days, but still far from fixed.
Any updates from the Happiness Engineers on this would be much appreciated.

@jordantheheadcase, I’m on Phone Co-op. I had normal access to my blog this morning, but this evening a new problem, in that I got into the blog, but the connection was lost when I tried to switch between pages. I’ve recently had two days normal access, and thought the problem (which started on the 19th July) was over. Evidently this is not the case.
Phone Co-op don’t operate filtering, but some of their suppliers do. They’ve told me its up to WP to negotiate with the IWF (to request their removal from the blacklist, or presumably that blacklisting is properly targetted). I’d be interested to hear from WP how negotiations are progressing. What is the present position?

Interesting. Whilst there was a problem, I didn’t get any spam, now the problem’s been fixed, it’s back. Coincidence?

Same old, same old with Tiscali – impossible to log into the dashboard yadda yadda yadda. Does anyone have a definitive answer as to who needs to get their finger out and get this sorted: Word press or the ISPs? I could do with knowing before I phone Tiscali and proper get my hair off at them because, as you may have guessed, I’m pretty much at the end of my tether. OTOH, I don’t want to faff with changing my ISP if it’s WP who are at fault.

I’ve been having the same issues (talk talk) for over two weeks. If anything problems are getting worse. Reduced to using phone app. Delivered a shoddy post for a publisher, my first for them I promised weeks ago. Very unimpressed by slow delivery of solution. Any more news of when we can expect a decent service?

My update … I’ve been able to post on my blog, and I’ve no more problems changing pages, like from admin to my homepage etc.
The remaining problem is leaving comments on other wordpress sites. Likes are OK, but not comments. Working from chrome it doesn’t show up. From aol it asks me to verify my email and sign up, after which nothing happens. I lost many comments so far – copying them is no use because they are repeatedly refused. Frustrating.
Any explanations? Anyone finding this happening?

Well it’s the 7th August and judging from the lack of posts on here I’m assuming that many have got the use of their blogs back? I’ve had to travel 6 miles to an internet cafe to post this and put the first post in weeks on my blog. I’ve had enough!! Can an engineer please let me know how I can safely transfer my blog to another provider so I can carry on updating it from home? I have a chronic health condition (much of which the blog covers) and I can’t keep travelling 6 miles every time I want to post. I’m on Sky broadband and the only feedback I’ve had from an engineer was that they had ‘added Sky to their list of ISPs who need to be spoken to’. I think it’s a month now since this went down and I honestly can’t believe the lack of support. It’s a joke. So…engineers…I’m sorry but I’ve run out of patience. Please can someone message me and help me transfer my blog with as little difficulty as possible, as I’m really not very good technically and don’t wish to lose all my work. Thank you.
-
Don’t assume that all is well. I travel, and so use different ISPs. Last weekend I was connected via Talktalk and accessing WP blogs was no better than it has been for recent weeks – ie, nearly impossible. At the moment I’m using BT, and that’s fine. But BT doesn’t seem to have been ever affected by the problem.

jordantheheadcase…we have had the main issues resolved, and we are enormously thankful, but I am sad to read your post, especially with your personal circumstances so please know, that as a blogging friend you do at least have my support, ineffectual as it is for this particular issue. Praying that someone in admin reads your comment and acts asap in some way or another.

For those of you still experiencing problems (like me) you are not alone and the WP engineers are still on the case, but it’s taking a while to sort it out. See the response I’ve had below, I hope it helps relieve some of the stress :)….
“Hi Mike, thanks for letting us know, and I’m very sorry to hear that you’re still having trouble.
We are still working on the issue. Right now, we are waiting for word from the ISPs and IWF about the status of the blocking that they did. As soon as we have more information about that, we will update the sticky forum thread about it. Thanks!

Everything’s still complete crap for me on Talk Talk. Half the time I can’t even access this forum.
After this post (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/recent-problems-accessing-wordpresscom-sites?replies=3) on July 29th from Rachel, no one from WP has said anything further but it’s clear that the problem is far from resolved. A few days ago I asked in this thread for advice as to how to pursue further assistance and have been met with the internet equivalent of a tumble weed.
I feel like WP have just washed their hands of the matter and I’m sick of ringing up Tiscali. Meanwhile, I’ve been unable to access my blog properly for almost 6 weeks now and a second that I co-author is being dumped on my mate to update.
Can anyone out there help?

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in updating you on this issue. We are still waiting for more information about the servers that were blacklisted, as mentioned here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/recent-problems-accessing-wordpresscom-sites?replies=3
We will update that forum thread as soon as we have more information.
We have heard from some users that the issues are clearing up. If you are still having trouble, please know that we are still working on this. You may want to try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies or flushing your DNS cache to see if that helps in the meantime.
