Thanks Rachel – I cleared my cache and cookies, and flushed my DNS cache (I sound like I know what I’m talking about don’t I?) but it didn’t help with my WP problems. Good luck with your investigations and thanks.

This is to let WordPress know that I’ve had a couple of days of normal access, and again though things had beeb resolved, but have again been blocked today, – the day when I most need access. I’m with Phone Co-op. I also have ongoing health problems, so don’t really need this to worry about. If this goes on much longer (for me it’s now 3 weeks) I’ll have to start thinking about an alternative.
-
Just a quick update as all has gone quiet – my WP problems are worse than ever today, have all you others who were having problems been fixed? If so did you do anything in particular that you can share? Thanks, Mike
-
mikehowmusic…the problem I had previously with WP have disappeared and it is running as before thankfully. I constantly cleared my cache to help things run smoother when the problems were active, but not necessary now. Hopefully whatever the glitch is with yours will be resolved soon.

Sorry Mike, my access is as buggered as usual, reckon it’s been like this for about 6 weeks. I got into one dashboard this morning but that’s incredibly rare and I can’t even load the sites now. I don’t understand how the problem can be intermittent; surely if something is blocked, then it’s blocked. Whatever, maybe people are just getting tired of reporting the same problems. There’s only so many ways you can say “my site won’t load, can someone please fix it?” These forums are also wiggy for me, I’m on my phone at the moment with Orange, they won’t load off my Tiscali wifi.
-
It might be coincidence, but today I installed a new router and everything now works fine. I noticed when looking at my account on the talk-talk website that, according to them, my router was out of date and I would benefit from a new one, which they would send free of charge. I figured I could be no worse of with it, so I ordered one. Installed it and everything worked immediately.
Hope others of you can take advantage of this…

I risked it once before and was proved wrong. But for a week now I have been in WP heaven. Everything back to normal.
My heartfelt thanks to the WP crew for their actions. My sincere thanks to this forum for keeping me sane. -
You’re on talk talk, aren’t you Rend? Did it just start working or did you do something to fix it? I’m with them as well and nothing’s improved for me.
-
I’m on talktalk too, no improvement on my problems of past 8 (?) weeks. Rachel (the engineer working on this problem) has sent me this update….
“Thanks for letting me know, and sorry that didn’t help your connection issues. We’re waiting for more information about the status of the blocking that caused these problems, and as soon as we know more we will post it here:

I need to leave WordPress. This has perhaps irreparably damaged my business. Please contact me engineers about how to do this as simply as possible while retaining my layout, etc. I’m about to lose my mind.

Another update for WP’s benefit. On the 8th, the day when I was due to link up with a number of other blogs, it took me an hour and a half to get a connection. Since then I’ve had some spells of normal functioning, but am still experiencing intermittent problems. No access again this morning.

I spoke to TT again yesterday. A nice lady “took ownership” of my complaint and is due to call me back in the next couple of hours. She spoke to the engineers who said something about not having had the right tools to fix this (what the hell do they need? A spanner?) They then mentioned 24 hours. Seeing as those 24 hours have already elapsed and I’m typing this on my phone because WP still isn’t loading I’m going to treat their response and their time estimate as BS until proven otherwise.

@neuropsyphi – I just sent you an email with information about moving your blog from WordPress.com. If you have any other questions about that, you are welcome to reply to that email and I can answer them directly. Please let me know if you don’t receive the email.

I know that some of you are still experiencing problems accessing your WordPress.com sites, and I want to assure you that we are continuing to discuss this issue with the ISPs and IWF to try to resolve it for all users. We know how distressing this is for you, and we appreciate your patience while we look into why it hasn’t been fully resolved yet.

Cheers for the information Rachel, much appreciated.
TT lady phoned back this morning to say they were still working on the problem. She’s calling again tomorrow with an update.
I just logged onto both of my sites (and this forum) and hopped around their dashboards without any glitches, but I’m not daft enough to count my chickens just yet…
