I’ve heard from the Co-operative. They say they haven’t put anything in place that would block WordPress, and suggest that, since the problem I’ve had has been intermittent, there may be a routing issue, i.e it occurs when traffic is routed into the U.K through one particular centre. I’m not a technical bod, so won’t attempt to discuss details. I’ve been able to access my blog this morning, so very much hope that the problem has been identified and solved?

Hi everyone, just in case you missed tellyworth’s question from earlier, I wanted to repeat it:
TalkTalk users who are experiencing the problem: what happens if you change the beginning of the URL from http:// to https:// ? That should work on any *.wordpress.com URL.
If you can keep your comments focused on this question for right now, that would great — we’d like to get some feedback on whether making this change works for you. :)

@rincoaster, you say that the comments issue is a separate issue, that may well be the case in terms of discussion, but I’m visiting this page as everyone else on here because they have problems connecting to WordPress blogs and even their own, not being able to leave a comment is ‘another issue’ that seems to most of us to be connected to being connected. All the blogs I have been unable to make a comment on I’ve noticed that my WordPress info at the very top of the page is missing – it’s as if I am logged out, but I am logged in – that’s a connection issue!
Perhaps others on here would like to try this (if they are able to.) I decided to visit some of the WordPress blogs that are listed in the Reader as blogs I follow when I was LOGGED OUT using my own computer bookmark list (not involving WordPress.)
I had no problem connecting any of those blogs, pages load quickly and I could click on any posts or pages without delay or failed connections. But signed into WordPress, using my list in the Reader, those same blogs fail to connect ‘only while I’m logged in.’
This is ‘not’ my internet provider (TalkTalk)
There is ‘nothing’ blocking me when I’m not logged into WordPress.
This is a WordPress problem for logged in users.

My problems seem to have been resolved! I haven’t spoken to my ISP (AOL) and didn’t try changing http to https or anything like that. No changes. And it’s working! I wonder if the WordPress fairies have been at work!

Where should we post comments relating to the ongoing intermittent access problem with other ISP’s then? Clearly we all need to find a solution.

Re COMMENTS ISSUE – no this is not a separate issue, it IS part of this major disconnection one as what’s happened for Suzywordmuser is one of mine too, as reported in detail on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/forced-log-out?replies=15#post-1358061 (which got closed in preference for this ‘global’ thread).
Engineers -please do not overlook Comments/Reblog failures as part of whole issue.

WHAT’S THIS > upon submitting I got ‘Slow down you’re much too fast’. Now don’t pretend this is not a WP connection matter…Will try submitting again -
I have tried commenting on various blogs that I follow and kept a text copy of what I’ve written in case the posting fails. When the comment posting did fail, I tried again but a ‘duplicate’ notice appeared saying ‘It looks like you’ve already said that’ or something to this effect. I’m wondering if the blog owners and others can see my comments but I can’t? In most cases these blogs are in the UK/Ireland, and I am based in the UK. I am also having sporadic problems viewing my own blogs and many others. My ISP is Titan Telecom.

I have had exactly the same problem as jowoolf, my comments didn’t appear on the other persons blog post, so I assumed that they hadn’t registered because of this overall problem, but I actually got a reply to one today that I still can’t see, so I guess the answer to your question jowoolf is yes the other blog owners can sometimes see your comments when you can’t.

All problems mentioned are (if it does not sound too weird) constantly intermittent…sometimes something works and at other times it doesn’t, there is no rhyme nor reason apparent and it requires patience and forethought to see things through. I tend to copy everything now in readiness for it not going through so I don’t have to retype and if I can’t connect after a number of tries, go away and come back ten minutes later, bingo, so then paste what I wanted to write. Not ideal admittedly, but better than just giving in.

I’ve been writing in Open Office/Word so that I’m ready to paste it in when I can get access to my blog. I did get access this morning, so left it on all day. Then this evening, I was denied access again. Very few U.K based people have been able to visit my blog over the past 4 days or so. (I’m with the Co-op, but suspect that’s not relevant). Hopefully this will get sorted soon.

I have just visited your blog, btaylor679, with ease so be reassured, people can see it.
-
Hi all – we’ve been in touch with Talk Talk, and we believe this should be resolved for their users. Can those of you with Talk Talk please let us know if you’re still having trouble?
-
Hi – sadly the answer is no. I had the problem again 5 minutes ago. Ironically, I then couldn’t reply to your comment via the email link!
-
Think I’ll wait until tomorrow morning and try again. Seem to be able to access the dashboards of all my blogs so that’s good. Still unable to use ‘create another blog’ tab in ‘my blogs’ though.
Did Talk Talk identify the nature of the problem? -
I am with TalkTalk (see my earlier comments here) and I still cannot get to my logged-in front page or see any of my drafted posts (preview them). This is part of what I got clicking on a draft to preview it from my dashboard
defaults[i]; } for ( i in options ) { data[i] = options[i]; } if ( data.labels ) { data.labels += ‘,’ + labels; } else { data.labels = labels; } _qevents.push( data ); }; (function() {var elem = document.createElement(‘script’);elem.src = (document.location.protocol == “https:” ? “https://secure” : “http://edge”) + “.quantserve.com/quant.js”;elem.async = true;elem.type = “text/javascript”;var scpt = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0];scpt.parentNode.insertBefore(elem, scpt); })(); _qevents.push( wpcomQuantcastData );So no, my issues haven’t been resolved yet.

Just for the avoidance of doubt, as the lawyers say … I’ve not tried to put anything on my blog, I’ve just been trying to look at it – it’s unavailable or very, very slow to load. That’s using Mozilla or occasionally Explorer. WordPress, please tell me you know this is a problem and are looking into it!

Hi eurello, Thanks for your message – I am a Talk Talk user and have just tested my site and am afraid to say that my problems are worse now than they have been at any point in the last week. Previously I was only having trouble previewing my posts and commenting on other peoples blogs. Now I can’t even view my blog admin or my dashboard. So rather than being resolved my situation has worsened. Sorry about that but thanks for trying to solve the puzzle, I do hope you’ll keep trying on our behalf. I will let you know if things improve. Mike
