Unable to log in to my site after Dreamhost installation of WordPress
-
I installed WordPress using DreamHost’s “custom installation” feature. I received an email from DreamHost saying WordPress was successfully installed, and I set up an admin username and password for WordPress. I also received an email from WordPress saying my site was successfully set up, and it said I should log in using “admin” for my username and to use the password I selected when I installed WordPress. I waited about a day and a half, and then I tried to log in to my WordPress site with the admin username and the password I originally created when I got the first email from Dreamhost saying WordPress was successfully installed. I was unable to log in to my site. Then, I tried to log in with “admin” as my username, as WordPress directed me in their email saying my site was successfully set up, but I was unable to log in that way too. For some reason, I cannot access my site.

I’m sorry to report that you have accidentally posted to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/

means you need to make friends at WordPress.ORG – see above for the link – keep in mind also that your DreamHost site has a different log-in that your account at WordPress.COM – the email was not from WordPress.COM but should have been from your blog at DreamHost.
