Unable to log into account

  Hi

  I had an existing WordPress account (this one I’m using) tied to my @gmail.com address.

  I then set up a new WordPress account using the same email address, but by altering the email to @googlemail.com

  It accepted it.

  However now, the account linked to @googlemail.com is blocked to access and whenever I try to reset my password it pings to my @gmail.com (essentially the same email address), but to reset this WordPress account and not my newly created one.

  Somebody please help.

  My new WordPress account is clearly live (lucyrecord.wordpress.com), but I just can’t get into it to edit.

  Hi @teqinedinburgh, so when you reset the password you get a link in your regular gmail (as you would with a @googlemail.com address) but then it’s taking you back to this account — right?

  If that’s the case, can I have you try copying the link from your email, then pasting it into a new Incognito window? It won’t work if you’re currently logged into another WordPress account, but it will work from Incognito.

  Hi

  So I have managed to change my username for this account (teqinedinbugh) to lucyerecord, so that’s how I should be appearing now.

  I have deleted all things teqinedinburgh.

  However, lucyrecord.wordpress.com is still a live link, but I can’t in any way get to it.

  Any ideas?

  You’re actually still logged into the wrong account. Can you log out, then reset your password if you need to for the other account, then log into it?

  Great, all sorted. I can now use my lucyrecord account, no problems.

  This account will no longer be used. Can it be deleted?

  The old user name won’t be available anymore, so you’re set there. If you’d like to change the email to a throwaway address you can do that, too.
