i am having a hard time making my site visible on the search engines like google. I am new to blogging so can you please help me out?.

The good news is that having a WordPress.com website makes your site very search engine friendly right from the start. However, there are certain things you can do to be more search engine friendly. The first thing would be to make sure your site is public, which it is. But if you want to know where you can adjust these settings, please read this support article:

You should also know that if a site is brand new chances are you will not rank high on Google, especially if your site is about a topic that is very popular (and therefore high competition). To rank higher focus on patient, long term publishing of high quality content.
