Unable to map domain name

  Hi, I’ll like to map my domain name, 7thbb.org.sg. But this error message keeps coming up: ‘Sorry but 7thbb.org.sg has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.’

  Where are you seeing the error message? Are you trying to map the domain to a site here on WordPress.com?

  Any additional information would be helpful.

  I’m trying to map the domain to a site here on WordPress.com

  I see the error on at the “Add Domain” screen. I believe it’s because of “.org.sg” extension in my domain name which the field is unable to validate.

  I read in the forums that there are other users who face the similar issue because the domain name is special (usually a country level domain that’s not your usual .com/.net/.org), and which is not recognised by WordPress yet.

  So a staff member probably then has to do something, then it will work.

  Hi there,

  I was able to map 7thbb.org.sg for you. You’ll still need to do a few things:

  1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
  https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

  2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:

  ns1.wordpress.com
  ns2.wordpress.com
  ns3.wordpress.com

  3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains

  Thanks so much for your help! I can see that it’s mapped now :)

  I’ve actually on the Premium Plan, I believe it should allow me to map a custom domain w/o additional fees? So do I still have to pay for the mapping?

  You’re right! Try to register the mapping again and let me know if you have any issues. You should now be credited for the mapping subscription.

  Hi Darnell

  I’m afraid I’m unable to register the mapping still.

  When I tried to register the mapping, the system first prompted me that the domain name was already mapped so I couldn’t really re-do it. (The mapped domain still required the payment)

  So I removed the current mapping so I could re-register it, but the same error message appeared, “Sorry but 7thbb.org.sg has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.”

  Hi there,

  I mapped 7thbb.org.sg back to your account. Is 7thbb.org.sg already registered with another host? If so, you will not need to register the domain with us. You’ll just need to point the nameservers over to WordPress.com.
