Unable to paste styles

    Paste styles fails with message:
    “Unable to paste styles. This feature is only available on secure (https) sites in supporting browsers.”

    Running WordPress 6.6.2 in Local, a local WordPress development tool using Firefox 131.0 (64-bit) as a browser (same happens with Chrome 129.0.6668.100.
    The URL points to a http (local) address, e.g. lesson.local.

    Local is installed on Linux Mint. Other users

    Hey there, these forums are primarily for the sites hosted here at WordPress.com, but you’d be welcome to use a site here to troubleshoot if you’ve already tried troubleshooting your browser. Or, feel free to test with Studio if you want to try another local environment: https://developer.wordpress.com/studio/

    As the message mentions, your browser and site security must support pasting styles. Mine, Chrome, had a popup asking if I wanted to paste when I tested just now, so you might check yours to see if it had any similar security measures in place.

    Going forward, for most localhost questions, be sure to use the forums for the free, DIY WordPress code instead, as these forums are primarily for our free-tier hosting.
