Unable to post comment

  Hello,

  This is a follow-up of this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/readers-unable-to-comment-1?replies=4

  I am unable to post comments on http://teagansbooks.wordpress.com/.

  Once I post a comment, I get message along the lines “sorry your comment could not be posted”. I had this problem in the past and I used to go back to the original page, refresh it and try again and it used to work fine.

  But now when I do the same thing (go back to the original page) and try posting, I get a message about duplicate comment.

  So either way my comment does not appear.

  I have tried this in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and the problem is exactly the same with the same error message.

  I have tried logging into my WordPress account first and than posting and also first posting which brings me WordPress login screen and then try.

  In other words, I have tried all sorts of combinations and permutations.

  I haven’t made any changes my end, have not upgraded my browser or installed any new programme or changed any settings.

  Can you please help?

  I carried out an experiment.

  I thought of removing all my existing details and posted a test msg with my initials as name (IS) and a different email address and left website part blank and the comment appears: http://teagansbooks.wordpress.com/2014/05/31/haunted-savannah-prelude-to-cookbook-2/comment-page-1/#comment-1601

  You said that you tried different browsers, but are those all browsers that you normally log into WordPress.com with? Or were they browsers that you never use? I was going to suggest logging out of your WordPress.com account and clearing your cache and WordPress.com cookies. But if you tried a browser that you never use, that would test essentially the same thing.

  Is http://teagansbooks.wordpress.com/ the only WordPress.com site you cannot post comments on? Or do comments work on other sites, but just not that one?
