Unable to post comment on Another WordPress Blog
-
Have tried repeatedly to post a comment on another wordpress blog and get a ‘Sorry, this comment cannot be posted’ message (both in English and in Spanish, as the wp blog I am commenting on is in Spanish, and located in Mexico. I have tried leaving comments while logged into WordPress and also while logged out. I have also tried to leave comments via a Google account with no success.
The wp blog I am trying to post on is:
https://infogratiss.wordpress.com/2016/12/30/el-senor-de-la-trompeta/#comment-4769Can someone please try to help me with this?
Thanks!
Miguel
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just a quick note. I just posted asking for help as I was unable to post a comment on another blog (not my own). However at the bottom of my original post, WordPress appended a default message saying that “the blog I need help with is” migueltejadaflores.wordpress.com
That is NOT the blog I need help with. The blog I need help with – because I can’t post a comment on it – is —
https://infogratiss.wordpress.com/2016/12/30/el-senor-de-la-trompeta/#comment-4770I hope this is clear.
Incidentally I have tried posting onto this blog while I was logged into my wordpress account – and while I was logged out. I have also tried posting via multiple gmail (google) accounts – and also via my twitter account. NONE OF THEM worked.
Can anyone help me with this????

Hi,
Is infogratiss.wordpress.com the only blog where you are experiencing the problem?
1. First, please make sure you have third-party cookies enabled in your browser:
2. If you still get this error message after enabling third-party cookies, please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies:
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please reply here and let me know.

To answer your questions in the order asked:
YES, infogratiss.wordpress.com is the only blog where I have experienced this problem.
Incidentally the address of the blog post I have unsuccessfully attempted to comment on is:
https://infogratiss.wordpress.com/2016/12/30/el-senor-de-la-trompeta/I DO have third-party cookies enabled in my browser. Additionally I have already done both of your recommended suggestions – clearing the browser’s cache and cookies. Additionally I have tried this on multiple computers which I have (a Mac desktop and a Mac laptop) with similar problems. Either my comment will not post, or it gives me an error message.
Additionally I tried making posts from multiple browsers on my different Macs – all of which do enable third-party cookies and all of which had their caches cleaned. These browsers included Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
Additionally I tried making the post from multiple desktop computers at the college where I teach, including both Macs and PC’s – with similar problems. I tried multiple browsers on all of the above.
One final point that may or may not be helpful. I have a WordPress blog myself, and most of the attempts to leave a comment were done while I was “signed in” to my WordPress ID. However, just to check, I also made multiple attempts to post from a Google (gmail) ID – and also from both Facebook and Twitter ID’s (which supposedly are options for posting). NONE of the above worked.
Two final points. I tried posting from multiple browsers (Safari and Chrome) on my iPhone 6 (that is running the latest most up-to-date Apple iOS) with the same problem recurring.
And I asked my friend who writes and hosts the blog whether she had any restrictions on who can post, and she said to the best of her knowledge, she does not.
Hope this answers all your questions. I was going to say, hope this clarifies what seems to me a very muddy situation – but it still seems quite muddy.
Thanks for your ongoing assistance, I hope you can help me get this resolved.

Hi,
Thanks for all the information you’ve given me.
YES, infogratiss.wordpress.com is the only blog where I have experienced this problem.
If this is the only blog where it is happening, I think it makes it less likely that there is a problem with your account.
And I asked my friend who writes and hosts the blog whether she had any restrictions on who can post, and she said to the best of her knowledge, she does not.
I was wondering if you could try something for me? Occasionally comments can be marked as spam in error — by the system rather the blog owner. You said the person running the blog was a friend, so perhaps you could ask them to check the spam folder in their comments? The spam folder can be accessed from the following link (they can replace example.wordpress.com with their own WordPress.com address).
https://example.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php
Click on the ‘spam’ link at the top.
Let me know if that will be possible and if so, how you get on.
Once I’ve heard back from you we can look at the next steps.

Hi, i’ve got the same problem.
With https://example.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php i saw my comments were in the spam box.
I tried to get the comments out of the spambox by clicking ‘no comments’, but still the comments don’t work.
I also cleared the cookies. -
Hi @pardoesblog,
If there is a comment that isn’t spam, you can do the following:
- Click on the ‘Spam’ link at the top of the Comments page
- Hover over the comment and click ‘Not spam’
If you have any further questions, please start a new thread and tag it with ‘modlook’ for a staff reply. Thank you!

I checked with my friend who is the administrator/owner/writer of the blog in question (https://infogratiss.wordpress.com/). She checked and in fact there are NO comments that either have been marked “in error” or are in the “spam folder”.
So I am afraid there is no solution there.
Can you please advise me on possible next steps?
Thank you.
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
I had another look at the comments and it appears you submitted a comment recently but it has yet to be moderated.
In order for the comment to appear on the post, the owner will need to approve it. This isn’t something I can do for you; it’s needs to be done by the owner.
She checked and in fact there are NO comments that either have been marked “in error” or are in the “spam folder”.
If your friend would like advice with this issue, they are more than welcome to log in to their WordPress.com account and reply here — then I’ll be able to help them out :)
