Unable to post comments on the blog post that are password protected.

    Hello WordPress Support Team,
    Reference to the above URL, I am enquiring why I cannot post comments to all postings that are password protected. I subscribe to the blog and was given the password to access the posting, but cannot enter my comments.
    Eg. https://ericalagan.net/2022/04/22/mahabharata-karna-takes-the-reins/, once I enter my comments, the comments disappear and did not show ‘Submitting Comment.’ I am not able to tick ‘Like’ in these postings also.
    Whereas the non-password protected ones, https://ericalagan.net/2022/04/23/shalya-vs-krishna/, I can post comments and tick ‘Like’.
    Please advise if there is something that the Blog account holder should disabled to allow posting of comments on password protected sites.

    Hi there, if the comments are simply disappearing, that means they’re being held for moderation by the site’s owner, during which time they will either be approved or deleted.

    Comment moderation is up to the site’s owner and not something that we can control, so I recommend contacting them about this.

    Hello Mac,

    No, this is not the case. There is always a prompt “Submitting Comment” before it goes to moderation by site owner. This prompt only shows up in the non password protected post and the owner receives the comment. I have verified this.

    Whereas the password pritected posting, even though I have the password to access the posting after entering my comments, no prompt showing “Submitting Comments” appear. Site owner also confirms no comments received.

    Is there sonething in the comments column that the site owner must disabled to allow comments for password protected site.
