I received a notice telling me I did not have the capacity to post photos with an article I was writing. I asked FB friends for advice and was told the my free period had come to an end and would need remove photos and lose them or upgrade and pay. I am willing to do that but unclear which option to choose.

  • Hi there,

The free plan comes with 3GB free storage space, and that’s what you have now exhausted.

The Personal, Premium and Business plans add respectively 3GB, 10GB and 200GB extra space.

If all you want is the ability to upload more photos, Personal is sufficient for now – if you take care to manage your storage use that can last very long: I took a look at your media library and see you have quite a few very big images in there – 5000px wide with file sizes up to 5MB.

Most computer screens won’t display an image any bigger than around 2000px, and your theme has a max width of 1088px. An image that’s 5MB at 5000px wide, would only be around 1MB at 2000px, and below 200kb at 1000px, so if you make sure to resize your images to the size at which you’ll actually use them before uploading, you’ll fill up the available storage space much more slowly.

    Optimize Your Images
