unable to post photos
-
I’ve never had a problem with downloading photos to my site. They are of dogs I’ve helped rescue. I’ve not changed any procedures. Now screen shots are being blocked with a note the photo is too large for the site. I’ve tried cutting and doing smaller screen shots which has worked before but nothing is allowing me to post a photo. Can you please help.

Hi there, If you have a free WordPress.com website, the storage limit for media files is 3GB. Depending on how long you’ve posted to your site and the number and size of those images, is it possible you’ve hit that limit?
Have a look in your site’s Media Library. Can you see there how much room you’ve used so far?
Here’s an example of what that should look like

If you are working in the WP Admin Media Library, there will be something similar to this:

Let us know how that goes.

JustJennifer- Thank you so much!! That’s is it. You’ve made my day. Very grateful for your help.
Do you have a link for your site I can follow?

You’re welcome! Now that we know what the issue is, let me list a couple of options:
1.Delete images from your Media Library is a no-go unless you’ve also removed those images from their associated post or page on your site.
2. Optimize your existing images by downloading them to your computer and using an image editing program to reduce their weight in KB and size in dimensions. You’ll then need to upload and replace the existing images. Here’s more on that https://wordpress.com/support/media/image-optimization/
3. Upgrade your WordPress.com site. Not only does a plan give you additional storage space, there are a number of additional benefits to an upgrade plan. You can see all the plans and a rundown of their features here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
4. Open a second free WordPress.com site. You can add a new site by following this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/create-a-blog/#adding-a-new-site-or-blog-to-an-existing-account Leave the old site active and leave a final post telling your readers that you’ve moved to the new site. Then request Staff to transfer your followers to the new site.
Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any other question about this.
