Unable to publish posts

  Hello all kind people trying to help me

  I have been trying for the last hour or so to publish a blogpost. Everytime I press publish a Little bar comes up congratulating me on updating my post and offering me a chance to see a preview of my post. When I accepted this graciou offer to see a preview, I scrolled to the bottom expecting an option to publish there but I only had the choice to edit. This takes me back to the previous page and this happens everytime I try and publish, I have been round in circles dozens of times. This has happened everytime I’ve clicked publish except when I choose to publish privately, then it will let me. Then I try to switch the post from private to public and the problems start all over again. In my dashboard the post I want to publish is listed as scheduled. But the Schedule date is in the past and I have never chosen Schedule as an option for publishing my post. It is really quite frustrating. I’ve also tried publishing it from my ipad incase the problem was with the computer. It wasn’t. Please can someone explain what is wrong, this is driving me up the Wall.

  In a previous versión of this question (4 years ago) people suggested changing the theme to the basic 2010 which I did, but it didn’t make a difference so I went back to my original theme, Hew.

  I hope this is enough information for someone to help me!
