Unable to purchase domain via WordPress

Hi, I am creating a blog for work and want to buy a domain upgrade to buy and map a new domain for the site. The domain I want to buy is http://www.tapin2advice.org.uk and this is shown on GoDaddy as being available.

When I click on Store>Add a Domain> Registration I enter the new domain but only see the option to map this to the blog if I already own it. The button to proceeed with the upgrade is greyed out.

Thinking that the domain might not be available after all, I have tried several alternatives (including one made up of random characters) but none of them give me the option to buy the domain, only map it if I already own it.

I also wondered whether I needed to buy the Domain upgrade before trying to registered the new domain, but clicking on Store etc just takes me round in circles to the same screens.

Is the purchase of a domain now not supported by WordPress? I would rather buy the domain via WordPress than buy it separately via GoDaddy and then map it.

    Any advice very welcome
    thanks
    Honey

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

At this time we are unable to register .org.uk domains.

If you register it via GoDaddy or another registrar that can register .uk domains, you can point it to your WordPress.com site via the Domain Mapping upgrade.

You would need to purchase the upgrade, and then go to your domain registrar and point the name servers to WordPress.com, and update your primary domain on your blog.
