Unable to register new domain – problem with Google apps

Hi. I was thinking of starting a new website with a custom domain and tried to register it. The page asks me to “Register ***.com with Google Apps” and informs me that “Sorry but Google Apps is not available in your country”.

How can I continue? Does WordPress.com not register or receive payment from card/Paypal? The button “Continue to Register” isn’t taking me to the next step.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’d like to make it clear that I was trying to register a new blog. The page is also asking me to ” Please select one of the options below to continue” but there are no options given/shown.

  • Hi there. As I understand it (see the support doc on this feature and the announcement made on the WordPress.com blog) the Google Apps integration is optional. If you select the first option, “No thanks, I don’t need email…” you should be able to proceed with your registration.

If you do have that option selected and it still won’t work, let us know. You should be able to pay directly through your PayPal account if the service is supported in your country.

Thanx. I noticed that meanwhile WP.com had already registered ***.wordpress.com and now I am able to add a custom domain upgrade through my dashboard, the problem is thus solved as far as Google Apps is not involved while registering a fresh blog.

  • Glad it worked out. If you need more help with this, don’t hesitate to let us know :)
