Unable to Remove "Leave a Reply" Box from my Pages.
-
I am not able to disable comments on my blog–I cannot uncheck “allow pingbacks and comments” under “settings” because those options are not there. I’ve looked under the “Discussion” tab and unchecked everything, but the comment box is still there. Since it’s a professional portfolio, I would rather people contact me through the contact form under “Contact” rather than through comments on individual pages.
Is this a problem because I have wordpress.com rather than wordpress.org?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Katie, there are two different places you need to look for those settings.
The first one is on the Discussion Settings page, which controls the default behavior for new posts and pages. For instance, if comments are turned off on the Discussion Settings page, then they’ll be turned off when new posts and pages are created.
Individual posts and pages, however, can override the default settings, and changes to the Discussion Settings aren’t retroactively applied to individual posts and pages.
So, if the page was created before you turned off comments, then it will still have commented enabled. You can turned them off by editing the page and looking for the Discussion box underneath the post editor.
If you don’t see it, click on the Screen Options tab in the top right-hand corner, check the Discussion checkbox, and then scroll back down to Discussion box.
You can also turn them off for many pages at once with the bulk editor.
Detailed instructions for all of that is available at http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there’s anything else I can do.
Ian
