Unable to remove non-existing blogs from old dashboard
-
Hello All,
I have gone through multiple posts and got stuck with 4 sites on the old dashboard (dashboard.wordpress.com) which I’m not able to remove. Of course, on the new sites dashboard they do not exist. Tried second suggestion from https://jetpack.com/support/disconnect-jetpack-sites/ without any luck. It always ends up with message telling me that I have hidden sites, which is not correct as all are made visible. They were connected through Jetpack. One of these 4 sites is still live and when I connect Jetpack it creates 5th record on the old dashboard, and upon disconnecting Jetpack it goes away but the old record remains.
Can anyone help my sanity, please?
M.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @o1ramsky,
What’s happening here is that those sites are still connected to your WordPress.com account through Jetpack. Even if a site is no longer active, shut down, or inaccessible, it can still appear in the dashboard as long as that Jetpack connection exists.
If any of those sites are no longer accessible, you can manually disconnect them by following these steps:
- Visit the Jetpack connection management page by clicking on this link:
https://wordpress.com/settings/manage-connection/ - Select the site you want to disconnect
- Or go directly to this link (replace YOURSITEURL with the site’s URL):
https://wordpress.com/settings/manage-connection/YOURSITEURL - Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Disconnect from WordPress.com
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
One thing to note: if a site has already been deleted, it can still appear in your WordPress.com account until it’s manually disconnected from Jetpack, which is why those entries linger.
If you try this and one of the sites still won’t disconnect, let me know which one, and I’m happy to take a closer look with you.

Hello @michaelmedahunsi,
Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I have tried that before while having more sites connected, and these last 4 I can not remove. If you can help with that it would be great.

Thanks for confirming! I redacted the site addresses for privacy.
I confirmed the sites were still connected via Jetpack and have removed the connections. You should no longer see them in your dashboard but feel free to let us know if that’s not the case.
