Unable to remove page header, on only one page of website.
-
Hello,
I am helping to design a blog/website for a friend. We have removed the page headers from each page in the menu, without it affecting the menu aside from one, which we are unable to for some reason.
We are using the Twenty Sixteen theme. The page we are having the problem with is
To save any confusion on which part I mean, it is the title under the header image, on the left.
Whenever I delete it in the edit page and update, in the menu bar it says ‘#137 (no title).’ How is it not possible on this one page? We don’t have the ability to edit the CSS either.Regards,
JayThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is the Themes Forum. You will want to create a thread in the CSS customization Forum by using this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform

Sorry, maybe you misunderstood. We aren’t able to edit the CSS. We didn’t buy the ability to.
We have managed to do it on every other page (not using CSS), apart from this one. -
In order to remove the dynamic category page headings you need must purchase an upgraded plan. If you don’t do that and remove titles you get the result you describe above.
See here for details on purchasing an annually renewable Premium or Business plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing.

Note 1: Once you have the required upgrade you can use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can create a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need with CSS editing.Note 2: You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing.

I do not understand. Why was I able to do it on 5 of 6 pages without buying the custom design upgrade, but for this one page you say I need to buy it?
Seems like you are just trying to get me to spend money to be honest…If it’s possible on every other page (without the custom design upgrade) surely it must be a setting I have missed or something.

I don’t push upgrades on anyone.
When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

I understand, it just came across that way. But thanks for getting a member of staff to look at it. I appreciate it.

Maybe I misunderstood exactly what you want to do. Not to worry as Staff will assist you as soon as they can.

@jayo409,
Hi,
We are using the Twenty Sixteen theme. The page we are having the problem with is
To save any confusion on which part I mean, it is the title under the header image, on the left. You haven’t specified which page you are referring to. What is the address (URL) of the page?
Whenever I delete it in the edit page and update, in the menu bar it says ‘#137 (no title).’
The number #137 appears because there is no navigation label for the menu item in the custom menu corresponding to that page. You may replace the automatically generated number with a navigation label (e.g. the page title). This doesn’t require CSS customization.
What does require CSS customization is to hide page titles, without deleting them from the page title fields. This is more advisable with regard to search engine crawling and indexing of your site, than deleting the page titles from the page title fields.

I presume that you’re referring to this page: https://sy-procyon.com/sy-procyon/, and the corresponding menu item “SY Procyon.”

Yes, https://sy-procyon.com/sy-procyon/ is the page I was referring to. I thought I put it in the OP, but I see now that I didn’t. Sorry about that.
I did what you said and it worked. Brilliant. Thanks so much, it’s been giving us a headache for a couple of weeks now.
Thanks again!

I believe that only happened with that one page because it is the only one where the page title and the navigation label were identical. When they are different, then deleting the page title doesn’t turn the corresponding menu item navigation label into a number.
